.223 Wylde Chamber

For optimal accuracy and reliability across a wide range of ammunition, our barrels are chambered in .223 Wylde.

This specification offers the ideal balance between:

• .223 Remington 
• 5.56 NATO

While some believe a NATO chamber is required for reliability, true performance depends on a much broader set of design factors. The .223 Wylde chamber provides an expanded operational window without sacrificing precision.

Twist Rate

The 1:8 twist rate offers exceptional versatility:

• Stabilizes bullets from 40 to 77 grains
• Ideal for high-BC projectiles (75–77 gr)
• Performs equally well with lighter bullets (50–55 gr)

Contrary to common myths, faster twist rates do not negatively impact lighter projectiles.

Cryogenic Treatment

All Supermatch™ barrels undergo a full cryogenic treatment process:

• Gradual cooling to -300°F (-184°C)
• Controlled heating to approximately +300°F (149°C)
