Sales – Category C
The sale of Category C equipment is strictly regulated and prohibited to minors.
All transactions are carried out in compliance with the applicable regulations and are recorded in the French Firearms Information System (SIA – Système d’Information sur les Armes).
Acquisition of a Category C firearm or firearm component
For any acquisition, you must provide:
- A clear copy (front and back) of your ID document
- Proof of address
- A valid entitlement document:
- A valid FFTir shooting license, or
- A valid hunting license (current or previous season)
- Your SIA number (active firearms owner account)
Acquisition of Category C ammunition
For any acquisition of ammunition, you must provide:
- A clear copy (front and back) of your ID document
- A valid FFTir shooting license or a valid hunting license
- The declaration receipt of the corresponding firearm (or SIA registration)
Ammunition may only be sold for a firearm that is legally owned in the relevant caliber.
Acquisition of ammunition components (cases, bullets, etc.)
For any acquisition, you must provide:
- A clear copy (front and back) of your ID document
- A valid FFTir shooting license or a valid hunting license
- The declaration receipt of the firearm in the relevant caliber
Ammunition components are subject to the same regulations as complete ammunition.
Powder and primers
- Sales are by appointment only
- Powder quantities are limited to 2 kg per order
- Only one order per day is permitted, per license or hunting permit
- Any excess quantity cannot be handed over immediately and will be held pending later collection
