History

Humble Beginnings

Armscor traces its origins back to 1905, with the founding of the first Squires, Bingham & Co. headquarters in the Philippines. Initially trading in clothing, firearms, ammunition, and general goods, the company was acquired and renamed “Sportsmen’s Headquarters” in 1930.

In the early days of World War II, visionary entrepreneur Don Celso Tuason purchased the business. In 1952, the company became Squires Bingham Manufacturing Inc., securing the first firearms manufacturing license in the Philippines and establishing multiple factories across the country to help rebuild the post-war economy.

During the 1960s, Celso saw promise in his eldest son Demetrio “Bolo” Tuason and began mentoring him to take over the company. Soon after, his younger sons — Carlos “Butch” Tuason and Severo “Conkoy” Tuason — also joined the family business.

The name Armscor, as the world now knows it, officially came into existence in 1980, following a reorganization of Squires Bingham Manufacturing into the Arms Corporation of the Philippines.

North American Expansion

In 1985, Armscor Precision International opened its first U.S. office in Pahrump, Nevada. Shortly after, Armscor acquired Rock Island Armory, a premier manufacturer of the M1911 pistol.

With Martin Tuason, the third generation of the Tuason family, now at the helm, the company is entering a new era of innovation and customer-centric service. Armscor continues to grow as a major force in the global firearms industry, currently exporting to over 50 countries across 6 continents.

Building the Brand

In 2011, Armscor opened a new production facility in Stevensville, Montana — marking a major milestone for the company. Alongside the expansion, Armscor also underwent a brand refresh and streamlined its corporate structure.

As a result:

• Armscor became the official ammunition manufacturer of the Tuason family-owned group — “Right on target. Right on the Price.”

• Rock Island Armory became the exclusive firearms manufacturer — “Solid as a rock.”
